Eugene Mack Jr. was born October 9, 1932 in Hawthorne, FL. He transitioned peacefully at his home on March 15, 2017 in Hawthorne, Florida. He was preceded in death by:
Father ~ Eugene E. Mack
Mother ~ Willie Mae Ulmer
Sister ~ Rose Brown Lumsden
Sister ~ Wilma Hart
Soul Mate ~Tammie Williams
Eugene attended public schools in Alachua County and accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Trinity United Missionary Baptist Church.
Eugene was a veteran of the United States Army where he served faithfully during the Korean War era and received an honorable discharge upon the end of his enlistment.
Eugene’s employment included: The City of Hawthorne, School Board of Alachua County, and Retired as the owner of his own trucking company.
Eugene was loving, giving, caring, kind hearted and meek in spirit.
To “The Mack’s” legacy he leaves, 7 children:
Marian Mack Rucker, Pat Mack McCollough (LD), Jimmy Mack, Larry Mack,
Irish Mack Roberts (Ruler), Donald Mack Sr. (LaVonia), and Mario Mack.
He had 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He had a heart-string for his maternal nieces (Nicky, Jamekia, Sasha, and Jazz) and nephew (Craig).
His cousin Ruby Mae Pearson was very dear to his heart and they spoke by telephone almost daily.
His extended family included: Elton Byrd Davis, John Byrd, Temeka Williams, Tamerick Williams and T.J. He held a special bond with them as he did with his children.
Eugene will indeed be missed by many but he has finish his course and kept the faith.
