Alex James Gordon, Sr., 86, retired City of Gainesville RTS Bus Driver and U.S. Army Veteran, died May 19, 2014. Born in Hawthorne, FL where he lived in this area most of his life. Mr. Gordon is survived by 4 daughters, Gardenia G. Bryant, Evelyn (Henry) Langston, Barbara Gordon, all of Gainesville, FL and Greta Gordon of Jacksonville, FL; 4 sons, Alexander Gordon of Hawthorne, FL, Gary Gordon of Gainesville, FL, Jammie Gordon and Greg Gordon, both of Jacksonville, FL; special friend, Laura Jordon; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
