Obituary for Bessie Lee White Thomas
Bessie Lee White Thomas was born January 23, 1933 in Edgar, FL to the late Thomas White, Jr. and Katie Lee Debose White. She was the youngest of ten children. On November 27, 2020, she answered the call of her Heavenly Father, leaving the cares of this world and entered eternal rest.
In the year of 1953, Bessie married Urias Thomas. Urias and Bessie were blessed with four children: Belynda Wilson (Ronald), Urias K. Thomas (Shirley), Diane Nero and Angela Lauture (Paulin). Her grandchildren and great-grand children were the love of her life, grand children: Ronald T. Wilson (Jessica), Janelle Monica Thomas Barnett (Josiah), Maya and Paige Lauture. Great grandchildren: Samuel and Zara Barnett.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Laurea Pope, Verelee Bateman, Ozell Reese, Henrietta Kay, Marie White, Laselle Montgomery, Addie Schuler and Preasha White.
Bessie was educated through the Putnam County Public School System and was a 1951 graduate of Central Academy High School; Palatka, FL. After graduation, she studied at Nyack Hospital receiving a Nurse Assistant Certification. She was employed by Lederle Laboratory in Pearle River, New York, retiring after 28 years of service,
She leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
