Deacon Charlie Bryant was born June 2, 1914 in Thomasville, GA. Raised on a tobacco farm in Havana, FL with his 9 brothers and 5 sisters, he worked as a cattle rancher and truck driver. Deacon Bryant resided in Florahome, FL for 78 years. He served as Head Deacon of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, Florahome, FL for 66 years. He loved hunting, fishing, football (Jaguar Fan), Baseball (Cubs Fan) and Golf. Deacon Bryant was a wonderful man of God, husband, father, grandfather and uncle to many.
He's survived by his wife, Mary Bryant, Florahome, FL; a son, James Bryant, Gainesville, FL; 2 daughters, Nkwanda Jah, Gainesville, FL, Edith Gale Shepard, Florahome, FL; grandson, Phillip Bryant, Gainesville, FL; granddaughters, Pamela (Steve) Stevens, Tampa, FL, Dr. Kenyatta Hills, Florahome, FL, and La'Kesha Latasha Hills, Florahome, FL; other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 30, 2018, 5 pm - 7 pm at PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 21400 SE HAWTHORNE RD, HAWTHORNE, FL. Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 am Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, Florahome, FL, Rev. Arthur McGruder, Pastor & Officiant. Burial will be in Sister Springs Cemetery, Interlachen, FL. No viewing on Saturday. PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME OF HAWTHORNE.
