He graduated from Ocean Springs High School, where he participated in basketball, baseball, and JROTC. After high school, Chris proudly served in the United States Army. He later worked for The Coca-Cola Company as a forklift driver and also worked as a casino dealer.
Chris had a gift for making people laugh and was known for his warm spirit and sense of humor. He had a deep love of music of every genre, and he especially enjoyed singing and performing karaoke. Chris was an avid sports fan who loved watching games and talking sports trivia whenever he could.
As a young boy, he attended St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Later in life, he attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, June and Turner, and his brothers Turner, Jr., Paul, and Eugene.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Charlean Straight; his children, Andrew Straight (Cole Duarte and Peyton Straight), Christopher Straight, Jr. (Yancy, Cylah, Jaya, Nathan, Noah, Tatiana, Ruby, Ciara Bates (J'Vontrius Bates Sr, and J'Vontrius Bates Jr., Haven Wallace Desmond Sr and Desmond Jr.), Darien Mallard, Caleb Dortch; and his siblings Anthony Straight, Sr. (Annette), Robin Mouzon (Phillip), Cora Straight, Collette Davis (Rommie), Catherine Straight, and Thelma Straight, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
