Elder Curtis James Bessent Sr. was born to Hettie Fountain Ross and the Late Larcellious Bessent in Putnam County, Johnson Crossroad Community on April 20, 1955. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended New Hope United Methodist Church, Hawthorne, FL. He graduated from Hawthorne High School, Class of 1973 and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He worked for Republic Services for 19 years and Waste Management 15 years.
Preceded in death by two children; siblings, David Angelo Lock Sr., Martha Ann Scott, Loretta Bessent Hines; stepbrothers, Clifford Ross, Ronald Ross.
His memories will be cherished by his children, Katrina Gordon, Curtis Bessent Jr., Shelbia Bessent, Towanda Bessent, Adrian Bessent, Christina Glover; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; former wife, Pamela Williams; mother, Hettie Fountain Ross; sisters, Mary L. Pinkney (Nathaniel), Zemillar L. Hayes, Ellen L. Thomas; brothers, Don Bessent, Willie J. Lock (Melissa); stepsister, Phyllis A. Ross; stepbrothers, Tommy Ross (Bridget), Chester Ross (Carolyn), Leroy Ross; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
