Obituary for Demetrice James Campbell, Sr.
Mr. Demetrice James Campbell, Sr (aka POOH), was born on June 8, 1972 to Ocie Campbell and the Late Oscar Henderson, II. At an early age, Demetrice was baptized at Gilgal Missionary Baptist Church where he attended Sunday School and sang in the choir.
Demetrice attended Shell Elementary School and was a graduate of Hawthorne High School Class of 1990. In high school he played football. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving four years.
In 1994, Demetrice moved to Lansing, Michigan where he worked 20 plus years at Meijer’s Distribution Center as a Fork Lift Driver. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time with family and friends, as well as watching football. His favorite teams are the Florida Gators and Miami Dolphins. In 2018, Demetrice returned home to Hawthorne.
Demetrice was preceded in death by his father Oscar Henderson, II. His Grandparents Willard and Ocie Campbell and Grandfather Reverend Carnell Henderson, Sr. Uncles Archie Campbell, Carnell Henderson, Jr, Roger Henderson, Sr.
