Evette Carter Coney
Evette C. Coney, 59 of Gainesville, transitioned from this earth January 12, 2021. Born to the late Bobbie Jean Simmons Carter and Robert Lee Carter, she's a 1979 graduate of Buchholz High School and obtained her AA degree from Santa Fe College In Early Child Development. She's a member of Jerusalem Church Of God By Faith and sang in the Church and Simmons Family Choir. She always had a way with children and never missed a birthday of her nieces and nephews. She loved the Lord and loved singing His Praises. Precious memories will forever be in the hearts of her husband, Bobby Bridges; daughter, Faith Dexter; sister, Laquita Sewell; brother, Reshard Carter (Nana); aunts and uncles, Zola Mae Johnson, Gladys Ellis (Earnest), Katherine Thomas, Alvin Simmons (Alfreda), Mable Carter, Johnny Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be held Friday, January 22, 2021, 2 PM - 7 PM at Pinkney-Smith Funeral Home, 727 NW 2nd Street, Gainesville, FL. Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Rhuta Branch Cemetery, 11139 NW 192nd Avenue, Gainesville, FL, Elder Terry Lee is Officiating.
