Hawthorne - Glen A. Gillins, Sr. passed away Sept.19, 2015. He was 53 and a cook. He was affiliated with Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church and attended Hawthorne High School. He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted parents, Frank and Dorothy Gillins, Hawthorne, FL; sister, Minister Carolyn (Dale) Robinson, Gainesville, FL; brother, Darren (Jawanna) Gillins, Hawthorne, FL; 4 sons, Glen Gillins, Jr., Glen Gillins, III, both of Hawthorne, FL, Averie (Jennifer) Johnson, Micanopy, FL and Kacy Gillins, Palatka, FL; 3 daughters, Quantisha (Lorenzo) Gulver, April Williams, both of Hawthorne, and Desire Gillins, Deland, FL; 17 grandchildren and a host of other relatives. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at New Hope United Methodist Church, Rev. Eugene Herring is Pastor, Rev. Veronica Brown officiating, Rev. Richard Brown IV is eulogist. Burial will be in Hawthorne Cemetery. Viewing Friday at PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME 2-7 p.m. and Saturday at New Hope UMC 30 minutes prior to service.
