Henry Peacock, Jr. was born January 9, 1962, in Gainesville, Florida unto Henry Leroy Peacock, Sr. and Thelma Peacock. He attended Alachua County Public Schools and graduated from Eastside High School with the Class of 1979. After high school, Henry received technical training as an electrician at Gainesville Job Corps, and later attended Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona, Florida. In his early years, he worked as a disc jockey for local radio, a seasonal agriculture worker, then a construction worker with Elkins Construction, and owner/operator of Peacock Lawn Service.
Henry was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Henry’s faith journey led to a ministerial appointment at Calvary Grace Hedges and Highway Church, where he co-ministered a radio ministry broadcasting from Daytona, Florida. Before his time in radio ministry, Henry accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and attended Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
Henry Peacock, Jr. was an avid fisherman, enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends. He was involved with many service organizations over the years and was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Eagle Riders.
Henry was preceded in death by his father, Henry Leroy Peacock, Sr.; and mother, Thelma Peacock.
Henry leaves to mourn his children Kiarra Young (Nodrick), daughter, and Jauquilise Curry, son; sisters Karen Peacock-Chapman of Miramar, FL, Kathy Peacock of Miami Gardens, FL, Judith Peacock of Jacksonville, FL, Joyce Price of Gainesville, FL, Kimberly Peacock of Miami Gardens, FL, Katraina Peacock of Gainesville, FL, Deborah Bennett of Miami, FL; and Lashonda Peacock of Columbia, South Carolina; his brothers Anthony Peacock of Jacksonville, FL, Jerry Peacock (Kathleen) of New York, NY, Mark Peacock (Valeria) of Deltona, FL, James Peacock of Bradenton, FL, Bernard Poitier, Miami, FL, and Jeffrey Sands of Lakeland, FL; his aunts Linda Mosby (William) and Diane Brown (Marvin), both of Gainesville, FL; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, 2 godchildren; and his loving girlfriend, Lyria Allen.
