James Joseph was born in Madison County December 10, 1946 to the late Raymond Joseph Sr. and Charlotte Moore. James passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 14, 2020. He was preceded in death by siblings: Doug Williams, Elizabeth Williams, Raymond Joseph Jr., Robert Lee Moore, and his son, James Joseph Jr.
James graduated from Madison County. He retired from AMTRAK as a Carman Journeyman in 2008 after working 33 years. He loved taking photos, working cross word searches, and watching nature programs.
James was a gentle and quiet man. He was always available to help anyone in need and his smile would light up any room. James accepted Christ at a young age and lived the life of a faithful Christian all the way up until the time he took his last breath.
James leaves to cherish his life and memories a loving, devoted, and caring wife, Beverly Joseph; Brother - Horace Cherry (Diane), Sister - Gail Cherry; Children – Greta Paige (Roosevelt), Charlette Uqdah, Elden Joseph (Jessica), Tracy Thomas, Reginald Moore (Amanda), Robyn Wilkes (Robert), Devon Mayes (Brianna); Sisters In Law: Tammie Graham (Lloyd) and Gail Thomas: Brothers In Law: Alvin Hamilton, Allen Thomas, Kirk Thomas, and Darrell Thomas (Linda).
His legacy also includes 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
