James Lee Tyson was born July 23, 1938 to the late Off and Clara Tyson in Warwick, Georgia. He was a member of Foundation Chapel Church of God by Faith under the leadership of Elder Timothy Henderson. James was retired from General Electric & Gates Battery Company.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Rosemary Williams Tyson, October 1, 1978; this union was blessed with two children.
James passed away on July 26, 2021 in Gainesville, FL, at North Florida Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years; Rosemary Tyson, Alachua, FL, loving children: Dexter Tyson (Valarie), Gainesville, FL; Erika Tyson, Alachua, FL; Alana Goldsmith (Ezra), Pike Road, Alabama; five brothers: Robert Tyson (Lillie), Gainesville, FL; Henry Tyson (Gloria), Gainesville, FL; John Tyson, Gainesville, FL; Offie Lee Tyson, Gainesville, FL; Joe Tyson (Faye), Ocala, FL; four sisters: Eileen London (Alphonso), Atlanta, GA; Pauline Stevenson, New Port Richey, FL; Willie Mae Poole and Mamie Blackshear, Gainesville, FL; seven grandchildren: Andrew Tyson; Elizabeth Tyson; Rebecca Tyson; Attiya Goldsmith; Ayden Garrison; Ethan Tyson and Ezra Goldsmith, Jr, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and caring friends.
