Obituary for John C McCoy
Gainesville - Retired SFC Army Veteran and retired Malcom Randall Medical Center, attended GHS and joined Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church at an early age. Preceded in death by his wife, Veronica P. McCoy, stepson, Ronald Matthews, brothers, Jamie Lee McCoy and Leroy Neal. Survived by his loving family: mother, Callie McCoy Lawson; stepdaughter, Tauja L. Pollard and her kids, Darren, Joshua and Daniel; an aunt, Rosa McNeal; siblings, Elder Jennie M. Kennedy (William), Joanne Smith, Rena McCoy, Pastor Elouise McCoy, Ellen McCoy, Norma Neal, J C McCoy, all of Gainesville, FL, Johnny Neal of Cameron, AL, Gladys Russaw, Mariah Russaw, Annie McCoy, George Russaw (Mary), all of Louisville, AL and Willie L. Russaw of Clio, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Shady Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Rev. Ronald Fox is Pastor, Bishop Eliseo Vasquez, officiating. Viewing on Friday at PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME 727 NW 2ND STREET, GAINESVILLE, FL 2-7 p.m. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Viewing Saturday 30 minutes before service at the church. No viewing after eulogy. Cortege will form at 2701 NE 11 Place, Gainesville, FL 11:15 a.m. Saturday.
Burial will be Monday 11:30 a.m. July 3, 2017 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME OF GAINESVILLE..
