Johnnie Mae Granger, 95
Johnnie Mae Granger of Interlachen, quietly transitioned May 2, 2018. A 1941 graduate of Central Academy High School, Palatka, FL and attended Florida A&M University. She retired from Sunland Training Center as an Instructor and served on the Interlachen Planning Board and worked the voting polls for ten years. A member of New Bethel AME Church of Interlachen and served as Superintendent, Church Secretary, and Assistant Superintendent, Stewardess, Choir Member, Adult Teacher, Member of Bertha Williams Missionary Society, YPD & Lay Member. She also was a member of Barrigan Senior Citizen Group. She was a sweet loving and caring person. Preceded in death by her husband, SeBerry Granger Sr, son, Robert Granger, grandson, Leo Granger, Sr. Survived by 2 daughters, Helen Granger Ware, Interlachen, FL, Georgia Elizabeth Granger, Palatka, FL; 4 sons, SeBerry Granger, Leo Granger (Shirley), George Granger, all of Interlachen, FL, Cortez Granger, Deland, FL; 20 grands, 47 great grands, 1 great-great grand; and other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be Friday 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at New Bethel AME Church, 203 George Street, Interlachen, FL, Rev. Larry Gilyard, Pastor. Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at First Baptist Church 115 C.R. 315, Interlachen, FL, Rev. Chris White is Pastor, Rev. George Trotman, Presiding, Rev. Larry Gilyard, Eulogist. Viewing 30 minutes before service. Burial will be in Sister Springs Baptist Cemetery, Interlachen, FL. Cortege will form 10:15 a.m. at Johnnie Mae Granger home.
