Obituary for Joseph "Joe" Bryant
Joseph Bryant was born July 5, 1956, to the parents of Rutha Mae Sanders and Silas Bryant in Grove Park, Florida. Joe, as he is affectionately known by family and friends was educated in the Alachua County schools, Shell Elementary and Hawthorne High, graduating in the class of 1974. His childhood was spent enjoying his Sunday evenings after church at Uncle Willie or Aunt Carrie house with his cousins. Joe possessed a demeanor that was inviting. His half smile was an indication that he would easily befriend you. After graduation he was employed for an extensive period of time with the then J. Hillis Miller Health Center (Shands). After completing his tenure at Shands he pursued his childhood aspirations of becoming a professional commercial truck driver. He was extremely good at his craft and eventually purchased his own (rig) as they would
say in the trucking business. He traveled the United States from the East coast to the West coast and all points in between for many years until his health begin to fail. Regardless of his travels, Grove Park remained dear to his heart as he spent his downtime with his friends under the tree at Ronnie's house.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Mae Sanders; father, Silas Bryant; brother, Curtis Mathis; sisters, Brenda Bryant Jordan, Juit Bryant; an unnamed sibling; an extended sister, Willette Sanders; and favorite uncle, Willie Sanders.
He leaves to treasure his memories for eternity, his beloved Madea, Pearl Sanders, siblings: Betty Bryant, Lehigh Acres Florida, Emma Bryant Breeches and Tossie Bryant of Newnan Georgia, Johnny Bryant, Jesse Brown Bryant (Tywanna) Grove Park Florida, James and Willie Bryant, Newnan Georgia, and Willie Bryant, Slidell Louisiana. Extended sisters and brothers, Joyce Wison (Edward), Jennifer Elaine Rivers, Annie Lampkin, Jackie Sanders, Kenneth Brown (Gracie), Larry Bryant, Lois Bryant, and Cheryl Brown, all of Grove Park, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
