Jowana was a life-long & faithful member of Jerusalem Church of God by Faith where she sang in the choir & the praise & worship ensemble; developing a never ending love for God under the pastorate of the late Elders N.R. Burney, Mark C. Welch, Daniel E. Gainey and Superintendent Elder Duane E. Gainey, to whom she was under the leadership of until her demise. Jowana was also an integral and active member of the Simmons Family Choir.
Jowana matriculated through the Alachua County Public School system graduating from Eastside High School - Class of 1991. She attended Santa Fe Community College, worked in the Alachua County Public School system and later advanced her career in healthcare where she found her passion - caring for the elderly.
Jowana loved the Lord & loved singing His praises. She was faithful unto Him and He was faithful unto her. While attending worship services, Jowana met the love of her life; her husband, Richard T. Holsey. They joined together in holy matrimony on May 28, 2019.
Jowana knew the importance of Christ being the head of her life and understood that “weeping may endure for a night, BUT joy cometh in the morning.” Jowana is weeping no more and we know that her joy is everlasting.
