Obituary for Joyce Y. Shell Robinson
Joyce Yvonne Shell Robinson was born on April 23, 1952, to
the late Arthur Ray and Verlee DuBois Shell, Sr., in Hawthorne, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Randy, and sister, Carol Cue.
She was a graduate of the Class of 1970 from Santa Fe Community College, Gainesville, Florida.
Joyce was employed as seamstress at the clothing factory in Gainesville. During the time she was working as a seamstress, she was awarded a basketball scholarship to Florida State University. After attending Florida State for one year, she returned home and married Daniel Robinson.
Born from this union were three children, who turned out to be strong men.
She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Daniel Robinson, Sr.; three sons, Daniel, Jr. (Deborah) of Gainesville, FL; Keith (Dawanna) of Clarksville, TN; Tharon (Felisha) of Ocala, FL; three grandchildren, Leondra Robinson, Mya Robinson, and Kaleb Robinson; one great-grandchild Jayden Holmes; three step-grandchildren Jessica Frieson, Jasmin Turner, Tyra Clark; four brothers and one sister: Arthur R. Shell, Jr. (Gloria) of Ruskin, FL; Cheryl Shell Purdy (Henry) of St. Petersburg, FL; Linzel Shell (Rosalind) of Orlando, FL; Gary Lewis (Angela) of Orlando, FL; Larry Lewis of Hawthorne, FL; four aunts, Mildred Dubois and Johnnie Lee DuBois both of Hawthorne, FL; Charlene Alexander of Cleveland, OH; Maggie Slater of Bradenton, FL; one sister-in-law, Angela Terrell (Frank) of Gainesville, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
