Obituary for Katherine Eubanks Lewis
Katherine E. Lewis was one of 13 children born to the late Reverend Richard and Alice Eubanks. At an early age she became a member of Abilene Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in the choir faithfully.
Katherine was educated in Putnam county schools. She was employed as a bus driver for Putnam County school board and retired after 20 years of service. She also worked as a private home caregiver before and after retirement.
Katherine enjoyed puzzles, traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and their friends, who all called her Mother. She was always there with spiritual guidance, and providing a compassionate listening ear, or a quick witty sense of humor with honesty and love that would have you smiling or laughing before you left.
On Thursday, July 29, 2021, the Lord summoned His angels to bring Katherine Eubanks Lewis home. She was preceded in death by six brothers, six sisters and one grandson.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories five devoted children Raymond King (Bertha), Wanda Wylie (James), Lancelot Bryant (Viola), Dail Lewis (Lori), and Bruce Lewis.
14 grandchildren, 31 great- grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
