Kirk was preceded in death by his parents Vernice and Lucille Thomas and his brother Authur Thomas.
He graduated from Interlachen High school and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Kirk’s lifelong occupation was that of a master chef and retired from North Florida Regional Medical. After retirement, he continued his work at Tacachale. He was known thoughout the community by family and friends as, “Jap” and “Rick”
Kirk leaves to cherish is precious memories and love, 2 Sons: Jason Thomas – Washington DC, and Mardus Thomas – Sanderson; and 1 Daughter: Natashia Brown – Gainesville; 8 grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
His loving and supportive siblings will truly miss him. They all affectionally called him, “JAP.” His brothers: Alvin Hamilton – Gainesville, Allen Thomas – Madison and Darrell Thomas (Linda) – Gainesville, FL; His sisters: Beverly Joseph (The Late James) Johnson, Tammie Graham (Lloyd) – Ft. Myers, and Gail Thomas – Johnson.
He was loved dearly by his Aunts and Uncles who called him “RICK.” Aunts: Edith Hawkins and Mary Mack – Hawthorne, Lucille Mann – Gordon Chapel, Louise Mann - Citra and Ada Henry – Delaware; Uncles: Charlie Mann Sr. (Ruby) – Citra and Dale Harvey – Ft. Myers.
Kirk never missed an opportunity to attend family reunions to be in the presence of his Great Uncle Reverend Joseph Williams- Hawthorne, and Great Aunt Mary E. Strickland – Johnson.
Also, to reminisce and commemorate his life of fun, work, and sense of community are his nieces, nephews, co-workers, community and friends. You will be missed and we love you.
