MARY LEE SPEED ARCHER
Mary L. Archer, 82 of Putnam Hall transitioned from this earthly life February 22, 2021. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Abilene Missionary Baptist Church, Putnam Hall, FL for 60 plus years. She served as a Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, choir member and Deaconess. She was recently affiliated with Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, Florahome, FL. Mary was a member of Francis Chapter Order of Eastern Star #140 and the American Legion. She served as Secretary of the Ministers, Deacons, Laymen & Youth Congress, active member of the Women Department and Laymen Department of the Second Bethlehem Baptist Association. She was active with the Florida General Baptist Convention Foreign Mission and Laymen Department and a Honorary member of the Putnam Hall Community Prayer Band. Mary leaves to mourn 7 devoted children, Linda Wright, Putnam Hall, FL, Marvin Thomas, Interlachen, FL, Robert Thomas, Putnam Hall, FL, Marilyn Baker (Rev. Dr. Michael Baker, Sr.), Melrose, FL, Robin Thomas (Lanell), Lake Asbury, FL, Sheila Archer, Interlachen, FL and Marlene Brown, Putnam Hall, FL; 13 grandchildren and several great grands; brother, Stanley Monroe (Angela), Gainesville, FL; sisters, Leona Guthrie, Putnam Hall, FL and Rutha Mae Monroe, Interlachen, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration Of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Hawthorne High School Football Stadium, 21101 SE Hawthorne Road, Hawthorne, FL, her son-in-law, Rev. Dr. Michael Baker is Officiating. Burial will be in Speedville Cemetery. Viewing on Friday, February 26, 2021, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Pinkney-Smith Funeral Home 21400 SE Hawthorne Road, Hawthorne, FL and Saturday at the Stadium 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. No viewing after eulogy.
