Morris Wayne Johnson, Sr.
Morris “MoJo” Johnson Sr. was born on August 6, 1952 to the late Willie Johnson and Mamie Lou Brown. Morris attended schools in Putnam County. His elementary years began at Oak Grove Elementary School and his high school years were finished at Interlachen High School where he played football and graduated with the IHS Class of 1970.
Morris was a member of Trinity United Missionary Baptist Church. He was baptized under the leadership of Dr. Clarence Woods on September 5, 2013.He was employed for many years with the Crom Corporation, Cast Creek, Lago Mar, and Pool builders companies. Before his health began to fail, his favorite pastimes were fishing, playing dominos and checkers, and riding the train to Ft. Lauderdale and back. He would often be seen riding his scooter on Baden Powell Road. Morris departed this life on April 23, 2021 at West Marion Hospital in Ocala, Florida after many years of illness .Preceding him in death are his parents, Willie Johnson and Mamie Lou Brown; Sisters, Effie Jackson and Wanda Brown; and one Brother, Jerry Brown.
Morris leaves to mourn his passing: Children: Morris (Rebecca) Johnson Jr., Roberta Johnson and Monica (Cierra) Johnson-Northcut; Grandchildren: Carette Johnson, Christopher Snell, Jerrod Torrence, Antonio White, Candace Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Michelle Johnson and Taylor Johnson 8-Great-grandchildren; Sisters: Mary Fountain, Octalana Brown, Yvette (Kenneth) Johnson Wright and Earnestine Peggy Green; Brothers: David Brown Sr. and Bernard Brown Sr.; Aunts: Earnestine Bowens, Joyce (Montgomery) Gardner, Gloria Johnson and Doris Johnson;
o Uncles: Hayward Johnson Sr., James Weldon Johnson, and Johnny (Cassandra) Johnson; Special Cousin: Erskin White Sr; and other relatives and friends.
