Obituary for Mozell Burns
Celebration of Life
For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finish my course,
I have kept the faith. II Timothy 4:6-7

Mozell Burns was born on November 21, 1945 in Alachua, Florida to the late Albert “Mose” Robinson and Odessa Williams-Robinson.

She received her education at A.L. Mebane High School in Alachua, FL. The Illustrious Class of 1966. She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age at the St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church in Alachua, FL. She later moved her membership to Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Bland, FL under the leadership of Pastor Gregory E. Pelham Sr.

She worked for the Copeland Sausage Company for many years until they closed. She later was employed and retired from the Alachua County School System as a Bus Driver for disable children where she loved and cared for each of them.

Mozell was an amazing mother, sister and friend to many. She was the heart beat for her family and everyone loved to be in her presence. She was unwittingly a comedienne, with the ability to make those around her laugh for hours at her antics. Those who knew her will never forget her gleeful wiggle when she was excited or happy about something. She was caring, passionate and a fighter to the end.

On Monday, August 16, 2021 she departed this life and entered into eternal rest.

Mozell was also preceded in death by her son: Anthony Cooper, (2) sisters: Alice Robinson and Margaret Robinson, (1) granddaughter: Zantasa Black and (1) great grandson: Trevor Coffee.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to her children: Hal Black, James White, Valerie Pelham (Gregory), Joanne Young (Companion Bobby) all of Alachua, FL; Five Brothers: Albert Robinson, of Patterson, NJ; Carl Robinson, of Alachua, FL; James Robinson, Willie Robinson, both of Gainesville, FL; Louie Robinson, of Atlanta, GA; Three Sisters: Leola Robinson, of Alachua, FL; Mary Huggins, Theresa Hayes (Samuel) both of Gainesville, FL; Seven Sister In-laws: Rosa Thomas (Carlos), Shirley Walker (Stacy) both of Tallahassee, FL; Ora Burns, of Raeford, NC; Barbara Burns; Atlanta, GA; Dianne Jordan, Beverly Green, both of Alachua, FL, Elma Bowden, of Jacksonville, FL; One Brother In-law: Jerry Burns of Panama City, FL; One Special Aunt: Norris Robinson, of Alachua, FL; One Special Uncle: Alonzo Williams, of Washington, DC; Nineteen Grandchildren: Sheena, Mario, Ronnie, Dairious, Shandricka, Jessida, Javontae, Jarvis, Shannon, Zabriel, Jered, Jaquil, Tanika, Jaheim, Zymeria, Janiya, Gregory, Brittany, Brandon: Twenty-six; Great Grandchildren; and A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
