Obituary for Ola Mae Bryant
Ola Mae Bryant was born to the late Dolly Slater and James Hart, Sr, on October 23,
1943 in Lochloosa, Florida. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Galilee
Missionary Baptist Church.
Ola Mae Bryant departed this life on May 20,2022 at Orangeburg Regional Hospital,
Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Ola Mae Bryant worked at Tacachale as head of the Kitchen Department for 35
years. Later she began working as a Foster Grandparent at the following daycares
and schools: Waldo Day Care Center, Loften Day Care, Pumpkin Patch Day Care,
Chester Shell Elementary School and Lake Forest Elementary School until the
pandemic and they were closed and her health failed. Ola Mae was a member of
Galilee Missionary BaptistChurch Senior Choir and served in the Kitchen
Department. Ola Mae loved to cook and especially baking lemon pies.
She is preceded in death by her four brothers, Clarence Slater, James Hart, Burnis
Brown and Eddie Lee Martin; and one sister Eartha Mae James.
She leaves to cherish her memories one son Willie Nelson (Michelle); one foster
son, Derrick Jackson; one godson, Jarvis Manning; one aunt, Emma Nichols; nine
nephews, six nieces, many great nephews and nieces; and a host of cousins and sorrowing friends.
