Ola Mae O'Neal transitioned over April 26, 2018 at home. Born June 16, 1943 to the late Andy and Shellie M. Simmons, she was a graduate of A.L. Mebane High School, Class of 1962. She married the late Charlie O'Neal, Sr. on March 21, 1965 and worked at In-N-Out for many years. She retired from the University of Florida Laundry Dept. in 2005 after 34 years of service. She was a member of Jerusalem Church Of God By Faith (more than 60 years) and served as Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member and Usher Board.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband, 4 siblings, Deacon Robert "Son" Simmons, Pauline Simmons Wilson, Bobbie Jean Simmons Carter, and Elouise Simmons O'Neal. Survived by 4 children, Charlie O'Neal, Jr. ( Christena Boyd), Sheila O'Neal Marbury (Marvin), Evelina "Tina" O'Neal and Roddrick O'Neal; 10 grandchildren, Dereck, Lakyria, Neisha, Chantel, Kaylee, Kerryn, Demond, Zae'on, Kameron and Makiya; 2 great-grandchildren, Alani and Khayla; siblings, Carrie Walker, Zola M. Johnson, Evangelist Gladys Ellis (Ernest), Katherine Thomas and Alvin Simmons (Alfreda); sister-in-law, Burneda Robinson (Milton Sr.); daughter-in-love, Kereisha O'Neal; Godsons, Dimitri Sewell, Isaac Brown, and Tyler Lattimore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration Of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M.. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Jerusalem Church Of God By Faith, 1230 NE 156 Ave., Gainesville, FL, Elder Duane E. Gainey, Pastor, Evangelist Gladys Ellis, Presiding, Elder Isaac Burney, Eulogist. Burial will be in Rhuta Branch Cemetery. Viewing on Friday at PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 727 NW 2 Street, Gainesville, FL, 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday at Jerusalem COGBF 10:30 a.m - 11:00 a.m. No viewing after eulogy.
