Obituary for Retha Gwen Richardson
Retha Gwen Richardson was born in Jacksonville, FL on October 5, 1961. After a courageous battle with cancer, she passed away at Roberts Hospice Care Center in Palatka, FL surrounded by her family on February 1, 2024. Gwen was a wonderful Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece, and best friend to all who knew her. She was an amazing person and happiest when helping others. Gwen previously worked in the insurance industry, but her love and home was giving back to those in need. Protecting, guiding, and securing safe homes for others is where she belonged. Her passion was writing, singing and music. She is preceded in death by her Father Leo Clifton Porter and grandparents. Gwen is survived by her loving husband of 41 years Ray Richardson, her mother Shirley Hudson, sisters Lyn Barker, Tammy Coates, and Shelda Moll. Brother- in- law’s Mark, Dick, and Mike. Mother-in-law Dr. Lounette Richardson (George). Sister- in- law’s Donna and Sherry. Stepchildren Zachary and Adrienne and many nieces & nephews whom she loved with all her heart and who loved her in return.
