Rev. Eli S. Brazil transitioned on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Born November 25, 1936 in the Monteocha Community of Gainesville, FL to the late Albert Brazil and Celie Mingo Brazil. He was a retired auto mechanic. Survivors include 3 sons, David Brazil (Sabrina), Elijah Brazil (Claudia) and Joshua Brazil, all of Gainesville; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Elzada Cromarty, Rhondafay James (Culmer III), both of Gainesville, and Gwendolyn Ross Hill of Atlanta, GA; 3 brothers, Isiah Brazil (Ceanus), Winter Haven, FL, William Brazil (Betty), Boynton Beach, FL and James Brazil (Willene), Apopka, FL; 2 aunts, Odessa Young and Mable Mingo; and other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Atlas AME Church, 19917 NE 13th St., Monteocha Community, Gainesville, FL, Rev. George Trotman is Pastor, his brother, Elder William Brazil is Eulogist. Burial will be in the Atlas Family Memorial Garden. Viewing on Friday at PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 727 NW 2nd Street, Gainesville, FL, 2 pm - 7 pm and Saturday at the church 9:30 am - 10 am. No viewing after eulogy.
