Ruby Mae Turner Griffin was born the late Elnora and Sam Turner in Broward County Florida July 5, 1939. She was educated at Hawthorne High School and married the late David Griffin. Employed by Rips Cleaners for 30 plus years, She attended Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Hawthorne, FL with her mother Elnora Turner until she moved to Gainesville, FL. Mrs. Griffin transitioned on August 12, 2020 from a brief illness.
She leaves to cherish her memory: sons, William Turner (Alberta), Pensacola, FL, David Griffin (Cynthia), Ocala, FL, Ronnie Griffin Sr., Gainesville, FL; daughters, Symantha Rolston, Priscilla Griffin, both of Gainesville, FL, Francen Cohen (Bishop Herbert Cohen), Jacksonville, FL, Leola Days (Bishop Percy Days Jr.) and Lisa Griffin, all of Gainesville, FL; brothers, Frank Turner (Daloris), Gainesville, FL and Allen Turner (Francen); grandchildren, Sonya Slater, Tonya Slater, Juanita Griffin, Shaquita Bryant, Shaquita Rutledge, Frederica McCullough, Jacquetta Lang, Percy Days III, Sanbreanna Days, Frederick McDonald, Justin Bartholomew, Jermaine McDonald, Rodney Barthlomew, Ronnie Griffin Jr., Diana Griffin.
Preceded in death by her sister, Yvonne Turner and a granddaughter, Rene Griffin.
