Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 – There is an appointed time for everything. A time for every activity under the heavens: A time for birth and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what was planted;
Rosa Lee Howell Bryant was born February 4, 1942, to the late Ira Nathaniel Howell and Mae Eva McGinnis Howell in the Gordon Settlement, Alachua County, Florida. During Rosa’s elementary and middle school years, she attended ACT School; high school, she attended A. L. Mebane High School and graduated in 1959, at the age of 17.
Rosa married Wille D. Bryant, Sr., December 20, 1959, and started their family the next year. Proudly, after that special knock on her door, Rosa accepted a bible study with Jehovah’s Witnesses, in which, she dedicated her life in serving Jehovah God and was baptized in 1968.
Rosa took pleasure in sharing Jehovah’s word through weekly bible studies at the Kingdom Hall, as well as home bible studies for her family. Her growth continued as she participated in field service work, which allowed her to share Jehovah’s spiritual word with those in the community. Rosa was a faithful member of the Micanopy congregation, until she was no longer able to attend due to illness. Through technology, she was able to participate in her meetings by telephone and Zoom.
Rosa worked various positions to help feed the growing family of eight; the two positions she was most proud of was, Childcare Provider with A4C’s, in which, she provided home care for infants and toddlers. Rosa attended night courses to receive her childcare development certifications. Rosa loved the many children that blessed her home for 13 years; many whom she watched grow into adulthood. Secondly, Rosa retired from Alachua County School Board, having worked with disabled children as a Paraprofessional at the Sidney Lanier Center.
