Teresa Yvonne Johnson was born April 23, 1967 to Altoria Strickland and the late Wesley Jenkins at Putnam Memorial Hospital of Palakta, FL. She peacefully transitioned with her loved ones by her side on February 11, 2025 at Haven E.T. York Hospice Care Center of Gainesville, FL.
Teresa graduated from Interlachen High School Class of 1985. She was employed with UF Health Shands Hospital before retiring in 2020. Teresa accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, now Trinity United Missionary Baptisit Church of Hawthorne, FL. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and loved sunflowers.
Teresa was preceded in death by her sons: Dalvin Douglas and Melvin Cue Jr.; granddaughter: Lewtronya Singleton; birth father: Wesley Jenkins,and grandparents: Otto and Ethel M. Strickland.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 24 years Keith Stokes of Gainesville, FL. Daughter: Dal-Tonya Douglas; Son: Anthony James both of Gainesville, FL; Granddaughter: Lew-Tavia Singleton; Step-Daughter: Kymara Stokes; Step-Son: Chambrin Stokes; Step-Granddaughter: A'Zaylah Stokes all of Little Rock, Arkansas. Mother: Altoria Strickland Johnson of Hawthorne, FL; Father: Clyde "Jake" Johnson (Cynthia) of Interlachen, FL; Mother in Law: Waltermae Stokes of Putnam Hall, FL. Brother: Cornelius F. Clayton III of Phillipines; Sisters: Cassandra F. Clayton and Kristie C. Brooks both of Gainesville, FL. Step-Brother: Tyler Johnson of Interlachen, FL; Step-Sisters: Carolyn Jenkins-Earl (Anthony) of Orange City, FL; Candice Jenkins-Davis (Brent) of Daytona Beach, FL; Cheryl Jenkins-Thomas and Jade Johnson both of South Carolina. Brother in Laws: James "Jim" Stokes of Gainesville, FL; Kenneth Stokes (Bridget) of Alachua, FL; Sister in Law: Cheryl Stokes of Putnam Hall, FL; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
