Tia Symon Terrell-Wright was born on May 21, 1969 to the late Alpha D. Terrell in
Gainesville, Florida.
A Time to Learn
Tia received her formal education from Alachua County Public Schools where she was a
graduate of Hawthorne Jr. Sr. High School, Class of 1987. She also attended Upward Bound at
the University of Florida and later pursued vocational school.
A Time to Love
Tia was married to Kelvin Quentin Scott Wright, Sr. on November 9, 2010. To this union they
had two children – Kelvin Quentin Scott Wright, Jr. and the late Quentin Zylique Wright. Tia
and Kelvin, Sr. shared their lives together for over 30 years.
A Time to Work
Tia worked in retail and customer service for over 20 years. Her infectious smile and people
skills became a huge part of her love for working with others.
A Time to Fly Away
Tia was called home to eternal rest on September 12, 2023. She was preceded in death by: Sister:
Erika M. Terrell, Mother: Alpha D. Terrell, and Son: Quentin Z. Wright.
A Time to Cherish
She leaves to cherish her memory: Husband: Kelvin Wright, Sr.; Son: Kelvin Wright, Jr.; Grandson: Kameron L. Wright; Siblings; Schuyler Terrell, Sonya Terrell, and Yolando Terrell; Uncles: Frank Terrell (Angela) and Charlie Slater, Jr., the late Trence Slater, Patrick Terrell, Sr. and Mario Terrell; Aunts: Lois Gadson and Pamela Sessions, and Janae Terrell; Mother-in-Law: Temperance Wright; Father-in-Law: James Elleby, Brothers- and Sisters-in-Law, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Sorrowing Friends
