Obituary

Wayne Arthur Thomas was born October 2, 1953 in Gainesville, Florida to the late Leslie Mae Collier and John Calvin (JC) Thomas II. He attended and graduated from Jones High School in Orlando, Florida in 1972. He served honorably in the United States Navy from 1972 until honorably discharged in 1975. Wayne was employed at Florida Department of Corrections (Correction Officer), Shands Hospital (Security) and Alternative Care (Security). Wayne retired from Tacachale as a Human Service Specialist and The Department

of Veterans Affairs as a Mental Health Specialist.

Wayne was the Past Potentate of the Noble Order of the Mystic Shrine, Past Deputy Grand Master Most Worshipful PHO Meridian Grand Lodge of Florida F.A.A.Y.M. Past Worshipful Master St. LODGE #55 who he affectionately referred to as Double Nickel.

The Most Honorable Wayne A. Thomas was a 32nd Consistory , Royal Arch, Master Mason and Shriner, he also obtained every corresponding degrees within the Ladies auxiliaries OES,Amaranth Heronies of Jericho, Daughters of Isis

He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter Laurelle (Kevin) and grandchildren, Aaliyah, Ricky, and Kevion all of Jacksonville, FL. Siblings, two sisters, Denise Thomas-Erroudani, and Joyce Tillman of Orlando, FL; three brothers Kenneth (Pamela) Hollis of Houston, Texas, Kelvin Thomas and James (Tessa) White of Gainesville, FL; devoted friends Stan Moore, Eric Baker and Bobby Johnson. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
