Willie Brown Jr. of Gainesville, quietly passed away February 8, 2017. Born in Archer, FL to Edna Rowe Brown and Willie Brown Sr., he attended Lincoln High School an was a member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church. A retired Heavy Equipment Operator with Utility Service Inc., Willie was a man who loved to spend time with his family, worship with his church family, and fish.

Ruth Carter (Paul), Jacksonville, FL, Lenard Graham Jr., LaVonia Mack (Donald Sr.) and Erika Johnson (Ramon), all of Gainesville, FL; 9 grandchildren, Russell Jr., Lenedra, Lenard III, Kristen, Lentieria (Ed), Lenterious, Ellysia, Lendarious and Donald Jr., all of Gainesville, FL; 4 great grandchildren; his mother, Edna Brown, Gainesville, FL; He took under his wing and raised as his own, 2 nieces and a nephew, Cecelia Jackson, Carlton Cunningham and Pamela Williams (Mike), all of Gainesville, FL; 5 sisters, Elouise Gathers, St. Petersburg, FL, Julia Mae Williams, Virginia Williams, Fernise Irving and Shirleen Thomas, all of Gainesville, FL; 4 brothers, Wilbert Rowe Sr. (Betsy), Queens, NY, Charles Brown (Janice), Johnell Brown and Vernell Brown Sr. (Valerie), all of Gainesville, FL; a brother-in-law, Eligah Cunningham, Philadelphia, PA; a sister-in-law, Ola Mae Brown, Gainesville, FL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Home Going Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Rev. Destin L. Williams is Pastor, Rev. Alvin J. Ford, Officiating. Burial will be in Forest Meadows Cemetery - East. Viewing on Friday 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME 727 NW 2nd Street, Gainesville, FL and Saturday 10:30 am - 11 am.
