Franklin Purnell Fisher was born September 22, 1947 to Felix and Katrina Crowder Fisher in Johnson, FL. Franklin was preceded in death by both of his parents and brothers, Perry and Roger Fisher.
Franklin was educated in the Putnam County School District of Palatka, FL. He graduated from Central Academy High School in the Class of 1965. He furthered his education at Santa Fe Community College and graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Carpentry. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Armed Forces and joined the United States Army. After honorable discharge, Franklin became employed with the University of Florida Athletics Association as a carpenter and happily retired after 33 years of dedication.
Franklin most celebrated and proud moment in his life was the day he met his beautiful wife, Deloris Thompkins. They would soon marry and have 3 children, Melinda, Kelvin and Tomeka. He loved the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and most recently, great granddaughter. Family was the most important thing to him.
Some of Franklin greatest joys were fishing, gardening, cross word puzzles, football, being the President of the Junior Choir, Chairman of the Deacons Board, being a member of the Finance Committee, and lending a helping hand throughout the community and beyond. Franklin was a True Man Of God and will truly be missed by all. We Love You!
On Saturday, February 12, 2022, God Almighty summoned Franklin Purnell Fisher home for his eternal rest. His memories will live on forever in the hearts of his wife, Deloris Fisher; three children, Melinda (Derrick) Mercer, Kelvin (Sharneka) Fisher, Tomeka Fisher; grandchildren, Jamez Johnson, Darrius Mercer, Kayla Fisher, Xion Williams; great granddaughter, Londyn Johnson; brothers and sisters, James Fisher, David (Elizabeth) Fisher, Katrina Louise Griffin, Lorenzo (Lorene) Fisher, Henry (Yvette) Fisher, Vanessa (Vance) Lewis, Hattie (Jerry) McDowell, Claude (Claudette) Fisher; brother and sister-in law, Tyrone Thompkins and Rosa Lee Thompkins; an aunt, Geraldine Monroe; along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
