DORIS AUSTIN, 70
Mrs. Doris Austin was born August 27, 1948 to the late Pete Richardson Jr. and Ethel Mae Richardson in Gainesville, FL. She was the ninth child of twelve. Raised in Gainesville, she attended Lincoln High School. After living in Ft. Lauderdale, FL she moved to Tampa, FL where she met her husband, the late Michael Austin. They resided in Gainesville, FL. She loved fishing, shopping, cooking, and especially spending time with family and friends. Known as "Mrs. D", she was loved by all; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to hear them sing and watch them dance. She enjoyed church and gospel singing events. On Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 3:20 a.m., Our Heavenly Father called her home.
She leaves behind fond memories: her loving children, Patricia Cooper Chisolm, Paul Cooper Sr., David Cooper Sr. (Yavette), Johnnie Cooper Sr. (Zonia), Vanessa Cooper (James), Gwendolyn Hill and Nicole Cooper; siblings, Samuel Richardson (Mary), Johnny B. Richardson (late Dorothy), Rayfield Richardson, Joann Durant (Ralph), and Mae V. Carter (Charles); extended family, Janice Harris (Charles), Michael Austin Jr. (Shalita); and a host of grands, great grands, other relatives and friends.
Home Going Celebration for Mrs. Doris Austin will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Showers of Blessings Harvest Center, 2615 SE 15 Street, Gaainesville, FL, Apostle Willie King, Pastor, Rev. James G. Crawford Jr. is Officiating. Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery, Arredondo Community, Gainesville, FL. Viewing Friday 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at PINKNEY-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 727 NW 2ND ST. GAINESVILLE, FL.
